Hello: The Bluffs

The Bluffs
THE BLUFFS

Who are you?
Ian and Noel Savage.
Where did you come from?
Ian: A magical island.
Can you explain to us where your band name came from?
Ian: The Bluffs are/were this place we swam where we grew up. Our parents didn’t want us to go there because there were older kids hanging out and smoking weed and skinny-dipping. So the bluffs were sort of this fantasy cool place with a cliff to dive off and naked people hanging out. Complete with this crazy echo that comes off the face of the mountain on the other side of the lake.
Can you describe your sound to your future fans?
Ian: I would say at the moment since our drummer is a machine that it’s kind of Thomas Dolby if he was a hyperactive pyromaniac, or if Gary Newman’s “Car” was actually the General Lee (without the inbred Confederate stuff). Or Men Without Hats being repeatedly beaten over the head by Glenn Branca wielding an MPC 2000. Noel: We sound like good times through a distortion pedal.
Where can we find some of your tunes?
Ian: www.thebluffsband.com or you can hit us at myspace.com under “the bluffs”.
What would you consider an ideal career?
Ian: Working for ourselves. Just being/living comfortable doing what we do. Noel is a kick ass chef. I like to design/fabricate everything from furniture to sneakers. Music is #1 in our life so that should be a big part of how we’re secure when we’re older.
Is there anything else on your mind that you want to share with us before we go?
Yah, we’re always down for bikes, basketball, and BBQing. Making new friends. And we have another brother named Gavin.
Are you sure?
Ian: Yeah. Noel could easily play for the Knicks. I can’t dunk but we’re both 6’6″. Anyway we’re really sure we have another brother cause he looks just like us and grew up in the same house. And our parents wouldn’t be funny about stuff like that. That would be weird. Gavin is rad and a really great artist of all sorts. If we can get him into living in the city he’ll definitely be in the band. He’ll end up in the mix for sure sooner or later. He’s not really down with NYC right now though. Gavin is only 6’3″ and has no outside shot what so ever. Noel: But he is the best D.M. ever. Ian: True.
