This month in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge, velvet swathed vaudevillian circus tents- coined SpiegelWorld- have been erected. Why? To host intimate performances by indie bands alongside nightly cabaret acts like the Citizens Band… and presumably, to make you buy stuff through the Spiegel catalogue again like it was 1988. Mom jeans anyone? ANYWAY tonight held the promise of ‘Sup favorites the Dodos. This San Fransican duo of Meric and Logan- now a trio, if you count the part time xylophonist Joe- did indeed wow the crowd at on Pier 17 on the East River. This time we snuck video. End verdict? Well worth the 13 dollar cab ride!
