We’re not sure whether to love or hate the name Vagina Panther. On the one hand, both vaginas and, to a lesser extent, panthers, are crucial life forces. On the other hand, Napoleon Dynamite came out like, five years ago, and the marriage of quirky/vulgar is really starting to wear thin. Is Miranda July in this band? I digress.

At the end of the day, Vagina Panther have more than a couple of things going for them, notably amazingly heavy Southern Rock-tinted metal, harking back (like everyone else is these days, I suppose) to the good old nineteen-nineties, when men were men, and women were also men. Bonus points will be rewarded to Vagina Panther for putting out some of the most awesome album art we’ve seen in a long time (not for the faint-hearted or the geometrically-challenged).
