CITIES ///

Introduce yourselves to all these people that haven't heard of you. Yet.
Cities is a Chapel Hill, NC band filled with young, fresh-faced boys that like small amps and reasoned chords, measured dynamics and beer -called Cities but without the word "the" in front of it.

Where did you come from? We assume it involves a city of some kind.
The land of liberal arts; yeah, mostly this real great college called UNC-Chapel Hill that accepted Robbie, Josh and Jeremey. That one, and UNC-Greensboro, which accepted Joey. So, I guess we come from a disenchanted pack of 20-somethin' book-hitters and test-takers. Not glamorous, but maybe a bit romantic, huh?

Can you describe your sound to your future fans while using the words "melodramatic," "chromaticism," "tipsy" and "Red House Painters?"
For those that need a simple sketch: melodramatic indie rock with a jones for minor chords and chromaticism.Or, for those that need their what-if's: like if a tougher Calla got tipsy, fucked Mark from the Red House Painters, and then felt really guilty about cheating on its long-term girlfriend named Lovitt Records.

Where can we find some of your tunes?
myspace.com/citiesnc

Was myspace.com/cities already taken?
Yes.

Are they a very loud hardcore band from Burlington, Massachusetts?
Yes.

What's the plan for the band from hereon in?
Failing miserably at booking a tour of the east coast. Playing the balls out of CMJ in September. Recording our full-length Yep Roc debut with Brian Paulson (Wilco, Superchunk, Slint) that same month. And keeping our day jobs while wining you over.

You have one chance right now to convince people you are a band that matters. This is your only chance. If you don't do it now, it's over. All over.
False Confidence: We've been a band for a year, we're younger than anyone else on our label, and we're goddamn all so fucking hot-whether or not we matter right now is beside the point; there is absolutely no way in hell we won't matter in the next five years. No way.
