Metric Play Conan, Open for Stones, Take Over World
To many, Canadian pop powerhouse Metric may just be another tentacle of the gazillion-headed Broken Social Scene beast, but to the informed, intelligent and initiated, they remain the current maestros of the Modern Epic Pop Song (a subgenre invented just now by the 'Sup Laboratories of Hyperbolic Vocabulary). This week, watch frontwoman Emily Haines crush puny humans beneath her glossy pumps on Late Night with Conan O'Brien (tomorrow, 2/19) and at Madison Square Garden supporting none other than the Rolling Stones (tonight and tomorrow, 2/20). Next week, watch this space when we finally post that interview we did with guitarist Jimmy a few months ago, after horrendously blowing an ideal interviewing opportunity in Washington Square Park because we had partied way too hard that week and had no idea what the hell was going on.
