Winners
Winners are the self-proclaimed "mother of all bands". The foursome hail from Wallington in Surrey and have been steadily gigging more and more in and around London. Winners play a savagely good mix of psychedelia, '60s powerpop and rock. Their funky bass riffs and tight hook-fueled chorus's contribute to their awesome yet simplistic sound a la The Strokes. Winners aren't shying away from their roots and who they are - "four men from Surrey playing shit hot music."

De Rosa
De Rosa are a foursome from Lanarkshire, Scotland who having been touring around the UK promoting their latest album MEND which was out in 2005 on Chemikal Underground Records. They're hurky jerky sound is a mix between art school post-rock / early emo, often twee-like vocals and what they like to call Lancashire post folk. They have a heavy list of influences; Arcade fire, Death cab for Cutie, Television, Bjork and Joy Division. Some peeps are comparing them to The Young Knives - we're also thinking We Are Scientists and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.
"Father's Eyes" is a great tune that mixes the slower post-rock tinkerings with the upbeat squealy indie rock. Check it out here: www.myspace.com/wearederosa.

Pull Tiger Tail
Pull tiger are an indie rock 'n' roll soul band who having been ripping up the London scene with their pop tunes and goofy antics. They are a well-composed mix of fast indie off beats and sliced up guitar riffs, keyboard tunes and "Waaawaaahaaa, Yayaaaayeaahhhssss" in the vocals. NME just picked up on one of their recent animated live performances. They've almost got this Spinto Band thing about them, but we're hoping they are not that dorky live.

Scanners
London-based Scanners are a soulful indie pop female fronted band from London. Their album Violence is Golden was released in June in the US on Dim Mak Records and its crazy 'cause from what we've heard, more kids in the States know about them than in London. We love their soulful electro rock 'n' roll swagger. It's not surprising our friends at Dim Mak like them (The Kills, Rakes, Bloc Party - helloooo).

Other people are comparing them to Elastica and yeah, they've got that going on, but for a current act, think Celebration (they've got that crazy organlike-keyboard sound too...). It's gloomy, polished, tender and abrasive all at the same time while still managing to sound totally experimental and new.

Recently Scanners have toured with: The Wedding Present, The Fever, The Presidents of the USA, The Organ, The Bravery and Electric Six.

Their single "LOWLIFE" is being released in the UK on the 19th June. It will make you smile and want to jump around - a perfect tune for the summer. Roll the windows down.
