[DISCLAIMER: 2006 was a crazy year, by anyone's standards. We listened to a lot of music, saw a lot of bands, and drank a lot of booze. Subsequently, some of rock 'n' roll documentation was lost in the fray. Here are some long lost reviews, photos and good times that should have seen the light of day.]
OCTOBER 2006: 'SUP FALLS IN LOVE WITH CSS

PHOTOS: ABBEY BRADEN
At this point, I think the world gets it: 'Sup Magazine loves CSS like McAdams loves Gosling. There is absolutely nothing negative I could possibly say about this band: even the questionable parts of this particular performance (shitty sound, Ladytron) were beyond the band's control. I knew before seeing them commandeer a half-full Webster Hall (those poor, ignorant bastards that showed up late!) that CSS were amazing, but just how mind-blowingly, world-crushingly, life-changingly AWESOME would only be completely apparent once I had left the premises sweaty, hoarse, and utterly content. Ironically starting the set with the tongue-in-cheek chant of "CSS Suxxx", everything becomes a blur of glitter, tattoos, Runaways fandom and the sexiest female vocals since Jane Birkin fucked Serge Gainsbourg in a studio booth. The real star of the act is Lovefoxxx, the 21-year-old frontwoman, who goes from spitting water on herself to stealing crowd members' cell phones to maniacally running around with her T-shirt over her head. By the time they close with the Best Song Ever‚Ѣ, "Let's Make Love and Listen to Death From Above", I barely know where I am anymore. I clear out before Ladytron even set up.
