[DISCLAIMER: 2006 was a crazy year, by anyone's standards. We listened to a lot of music, saw a lot of bands, and drank a lot of booze. Subsequently, some of rock 'n' roll documentation was lost in the fray. Here are some long lost reviews, photos and good times that should have seen the light of day.]

With the entire NYC hipsterati packed into the tiny basement of Midway on the LES for the second-ever Club Modular event, UK buzz-band Klaxons couldn't have asked for a more enthusiastic crowd. As soon as the band takes the stage, their fans' cries of devotion are louder than their busted Casio keyboard, and as bassist/vocalist Jamie Reynolds launches into "The Bouncer", Klaxons' now legendary Kicks Like a Mule cover, the place goes nuclear. "Your name's not Dan/You're not coming in!" he yelps, surely depicting with astounding precision the hoardes of people outside trying to blag their way past the doorman. This was the show they unveiled the future hits "Magick" and "Golden Skans", in all of their glammed-up, stardust-flecked glory. While their live musicianship leaves somewhart to be desired (there are times where it's pretty clear they've been together for less than a year) everyone leaves the grounds happy. Klaxons-mania has finally hit the US.
A few days letter, Klaxons played Studio B in Brooklyn, supporting Soulwax.
