5 QUESTIONS WITH THE KLAXONS

It will be almost two years that we’ve known the Klaxons by the time you’re reading this. They’ve topped the charts with their album Myths of the Near Future, been around the world and back, broken limbs and have even been stalked by Lindsay Lohan. We have to say, that even though they wear more expensive trainers now and two of them have girlfriends (indie glitterati!), we love them just the same.

We called on our friend James Ford (uber-producer and one-half of SMD) to ask some questions to the band whose music he turned from water into wine.

1. What’s the gayest thing you’ve been asked to do in the last three months?
Simon: It might have been longer than three months ago - dress in a green skirt, a Kangol hat and scream like a baby because apparently you’ll then look like David Bowie.
James: I had to do an interview for Out magazine the other day, that’s gay in a literal sense.

2. Has anyone had any new tattoos? What of?
Simon: Three dots and lovers names.
James: Simon has lovefoxx tattooed on his belly, Jamie has three dots on his shoulder and I’m thinking of getting you tattooed on my knee.

3. Which country has the worst food? Is it Germany?
Simon: England.
James: Germany has heavy food, real character building stuff. I hate to say it but the food on UK tours is pretty depressing.

4. How are the egos? Pick one (A. in check, B. rampant/lost it, C. Johnny Borrell/Live Aid)
Simon: Live Aid with an army of trucks in tow carrying every last thought and mirror.
James: Definitely heading towards C. Borrell. What a dude, what a genius. I’d say I personally lost it whilst answering this question.

5. Who’s gonna produce the second album?
Simon: J.J.P.
James: Interesting you should ask. Are you any good? I’ve heard you’ve done The Monkeys and Mystery Jets records but I’m not sure you’ve got the experience. I think it would be better if we were produced by Simian Mobile Disco!
