FRESH MEET: THE TEENAGERS
WORDS: MARISA BRICKMAN
Introduce yourselves:
We are The Teenagers. We don’t want to grow up and we like pop music.
Who are you and what do you play?
Quentin Delafon, vocals.
Dorian Dumont, guitars and vocals.
Michael Szpiner, bass and vocals.
Which one is better: London or Paris, and why?
London for parties and Paris for the rest.
What does it mean to be a teenager?
To have erections.
Who is the coolest teenager ever?
There is no cool teenager. They always grow up into suckers.
As teenagers, who do you look up to?
Saturday nights and the new Britney LP.
Who and what inspires you?
Crazy cool. Rebellious cool. Dark cool. Athletic cool. Sexy cool. Gangsta cool and Slayer. “Angel of Death” and “South of Heaven” are the best songs ever.
Tell us about your relationship with computers and scissors.
Love/hate depending on when, where and who. 21st century teenagers love scissors but they prefer their laptop.
Thing you’re most looking forward to this year.
Turning 15.
How do you make your music and how do you plan to play it live?
We are making music in my apartment. Simple and easy. We always do the instrumental parts before with a computer, a guitar and a bass – and then we add the vocals drinking vodka coca. We are rehearsing and we’re gonna play live soon. It’s gonna be like an indie band without the drums for now.
Why should people check you out?
Because.
